Punjab National Bank (PNB) has released the PNB LBO Notification 2025 for the recruitment of 750 Local Bank Officers (LBO) in Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I).
The recruitment is state-wise with mandatory local language proficiency, and the online written test is tentatively scheduled in December 2025 / January 2026.

Maximum vacancies are in Maharashtra, followed by Gujarat, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Assam, with minimum in Ladakh.

Eligibility Criteria for PNB LBO Recruitment 2025

Candidates must satisfy nationality, age, education, experience and local language proficiency conditions as on the specified cut-off dates.
Application is allowed only for one state, and candidates must be proficient in the specified local language of that state.

Education Qualification

A Graduate degree in any discipline from a university/institution recognised/approved by Government of India or its regulatory bodies is mandatory.
Candidates must possess a valid mark sheet/degree certificate on or before 23 November 2025 and mention the percentage to two decimals at the time of online registration.

Age Limit

The age limit is 20 to 30 years as on 01 July 2025, with relaxations as per Government norms.
Upper age relaxation is applicable for OBC, SC/ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and persons affected by 1984 riots.

Salary Details

The Local Bank Officer will be placed in JMGS-I pay scale with attractive allowances and benefits.
Apart from basic pay, officers get DA, HRA/Leased Accommodation, CCA, Medical insurance, LFC, retirement benefits and other perquisites as per bank rules.

Selection Process

The PNB LBO selection process is conducted in four stages.

• Stage 1 – Online Written Test:
  150 questions, 150 marks, 180 minutes; sections include Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis & Interpretation, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, with 1/4th negative marking and section-wise minimum qualifying marks (40% General/EWS, 35% Reserved).
• Stage 2 – Screening of Documents:
  Verification of online application and uploaded documents for eligibility before LLPT/Interview.
• Stage 3 – Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT):
  Mandatory for those who have not studied the specified local language in 10th or 12th, qualifying in nature (reading, writing & speaking).
• Stage 4 – Personal Interview:
  Interview for 50 marks with minimum qualifying marks 45% for SC/ST (22.50) and 50% for others (25); final merit based on combined scores of Online Test + Interview, subject to LLPT qualification.
