About Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR)

The Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR) is one of India's premier nuclear research institutes functioning under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India. Located at Kalpakkam, Tamil Nadu, the centre conducts advanced research in nuclear science, reactor engineering, materials science, and fast breeder reactor technology.

PwBD Reservation

A total of 8 vacancies are reserved for eligible Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) candidates as per Government of India rules.

IGCAR Apprentice Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates must satisfy the educational qualification and age criteria prescribed in the notification.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess an ITI Pass Certificate (NCVT/SCVT) in the relevant trade from a recognized institute.

Not Eligible

• Candidates who have already completed apprenticeship training.
• Candidates currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961.
