CTET September 2026 Subject-Wise Weightage and Preparation Focus
CTET preparation requires a balanced strategy because the examination tests both conceptual teaching understanding and subject knowledge. Many candidates focus heavily on factual memorisation but lose marks in pedagogy and classroom application-based questions.
Child Development and Pedagogy Preparation
Child Development and Pedagogy remains one of the most scoring yet conceptually challenging sections. Candidates should focus on:
- Learning theories
- Inclusive education
- Classroom interaction
- Assessment strategies
- Educational psychology
Understanding conceptual teaching situations is more important than rote learning.
Language Sections Preparation
Both Language I and Language II sections test comprehension, pedagogy, grammar, and communication ability. Candidates preparing for language sections can improve comprehension and grammar skills through topic-wise English practice available here: https://jobsme.in/posts/english
Mathematics and Environmental Studies Preparation
For Paper I, candidates should prioritise NCERT-based conceptual clarity rather than advanced calculations. Questions often focus on pedagogy, child-friendly teaching methods, and classroom applications.
Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies Preparation for Paper II
Paper II candidates should focus strongly on NCERT concepts from Classes VI to VIII because the examination largely follows school-level conceptual frameworks.
Candidates should also stay updated with educational developments and national current affairs through daily updates available here: https://jobsme.in/posts/daily-current-affairs
Consistent mock test practice becomes extremely important because CTET contains 150 questions to be solved within limited time.
CTET September 2026 Paper I Preparation Strategy
Paper I is designed for candidates aspiring to teach Classes I to V. The examination strongly focuses on child-centred education approaches and foundational teaching concepts.
Candidates should focus on:
- Primary-level pedagogy
- Inclusive classroom practices
- Basic mathematics concepts
- Environmental Studies pedagogy
- Reading comprehension
Candidates preparing for Paper I should practise previous-year questions regularly because CTET frequently repeats conceptual patterns.
CTET September 2026 Paper II Preparation Strategy
Paper II is intended for upper primary teaching aspirants for Classes VI to VIII. This paper generally requires deeper conceptual understanding and stronger subject knowledge.
Science and Mathematics candidates should focus on:
- NCERT conceptual clarity
- Application-based teaching questions
- Pedagogical reasoning
Social Studies candidates should revise:
- History
- Geography
- Political Science
- Social pedagogy concepts
Pedagogy sections continue to remain the deciding factor for high scores in both papers.
