MEA Section Officer Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Essential Eligibility
- Applicants must be serving officers working in any Ministry, Department, or Office of the Central Government.
- Candidates must hold analogous posts in Level 8 or Level 10 of the Pay Matrix on a regular basis.
- Applications must be forwarded through proper channel.
Desirable Experience
- Good managerial and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in administration, establishment, RTI, audit, finance, court cases, and public dealing.
- Strong noting, drafting, and communication skills.
- Previous experience as Section Officer or equivalent in Government of India offices.
Disciplinary and Vigilance Conditions
- No disciplinary proceedings should be pending or contemplated.
- No major or minor penalty should have been imposed during the last 10 years.
- Integrity certificate and vigilance clearance are mandatory.
Understanding the Deputation Basis
This recruitment is not a permanent direct recruitment vacancy. Deputation means officers continue to hold lien in their parent department while serving temporarily in MEA for the deputation period. Officers selected through this process must serve the deputation term and cannot seek premature relieving except in exceptional circumstances.
