Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has released the IOCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Notification for the engagement of 1,524 Trade and Technician Apprentices across its Bongaigaon, Gujarat, Mathura, and Paradip Refineries. The recruitment is being conducted under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973, offering apprenticeship opportunities in various technical and non-technical trades.

The vacancies are distributed among four refinery units:

The recruitment includes Trade Apprentice and Technician Apprentice posts in disciplines such as Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Secretarial Assistant, Accountant, and Data Entry Operator.

IOCL Apprentice Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates must possess the required qualification corresponding to the post.

Educational Qualification

Eligible qualifications include:

• Class 10 Pass
• Matriculation + ITI (Relevant Trade)
• Class 12 Pass
• Diploma in Engineering
• B.Sc. (Chemistry/Physics/Mathematics/Industrial Chemistry)
• B.A.
• B.Com.

Minimum qualifying marks:

• General/OBC/EWS: 50%
• SC/ST/PwBD: 45%

Candidates possessing higher professional qualifications such as B.E., B.Tech., MBA, MCA, CA, LLB, etc., are not eligible for apprenticeship training.

IOCL Apprentice Age Limit 2026

Age will be calculated as on 30 June 2026.

The minimum age required is 18 years. Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India rules.

IOCL Apprentice Application Fee

The official notification does not prescribe any application fee for any category.

Candidates can complete the application process free of cost through the NAPS/NATS portals and Microsoft Forms.

IOCL Apprentice Selection Process 2026

There is no written examination.

Selection will be based on:

1. Merit List prepared on qualifying examination marks.
2. Document Verification.

In case of a tie in marks, the older candidate (by date of birth) will be given preference. Candidates applying for apprenticeship training for the first time will also receive preference.

Training Duration

The apprenticeship training period varies depending on the trade.

• 12 Months

• 24 Months (Boiler Trade)
